After four months of going through the process, 30 hours of in class training, certification in medication, first aid, and CPR, home visits, interviews, and references from family and others - Erin and I received word this afternoon that our paperwork has been approved by the state and we are officially licensed to be foster parents! Now all that is left is to wait for a call from a case worker and prepare to receive a child or two.
Whew! We really need your prayers.

Congratulations, Andy!!! It will be an enriching experience for your family as well as the child.
Congratulations! Praying for the both of you (and your future foster child(ren).
Congrats Andy. I hope they are a blessing for you as much as I'm sure you will bless them!
Congratulations!
Good for you, Andy! And good for the kids!
I'm happy for you, too. And I have confidence that you and Erin have considered the well-being of Cori and Wes as you have made this decision and gone through the training. In fact, although it may be tough for Cori and Wes at times, the two of you will be able to further their lessons in compassion and serving others as you live and love with them and any foster children that come your way. Grandmotherly yours, cb
I'm so happy for you two! I know this is something that you've both considered carefully and were hoping for - good luck!
i'm a bit late in throwing out props. happy for you all. i grew up as the child of a foster family. we always had kids coming and going, many were some sad sad cases for children. abused, neglected and some just rolling through the system.
i look back at those times as a real time of sensitivity in my early childhood. probably has something to do with an ability to make young people feel welcome.
