The Missouri Conference posts upcoming appointment changes on their website.

I'm not moving - yea!
Just curious, how common is this practice? If you would, let me know by leaving me a comment if you are a UM, how does your conference do pre-AC appointment announcing?
Missouri's way saves a lot of unproductive gossip time, that's for sure!

In Mississippi the "kitchen cabinet" usually sends out an email list that get outs within 24 hours of the Spring cabinet meeting. My last move, I appeared on that list and nobody knew about my move (including me) until the middle of the cabinet meeting.
I like the official posting of your annual conference, but I've got to admit our gossip list is a little more fun!

The Oklahoma Conference doesn't announce anything until Annual Conference. Of course, rumors abound prior to that time.
Andy, You're not moving... yet. I assume that this is not the final list and more appointments will be made. I like the bios they did on the cabinet members, but they didn't bother to tell us which districts they have been appointed to.
Nick, I guess you are right. The website says they "have begun announcing" the appointments, so we'll all stay tuned!
It's certainly better than it used to be...when you didn't know you were moving until the last day of annual conference (and that's not too long ago; certainly within the last 20 years).
Several other UM conferences where The Rev. and I have friends post ahead of time AND have a finalized list an Conference Journal ready to distribute within a week following the end of Annual Conference. Wouldn't THAT be something...
I'm glad you are not moving but if you are moved to Kansas.
Unofficially speaking, I expect to receive additional lists of anticipated new appointments after each Cabinet meeting. As soon as I get them, we'll post them. As for the locations of the new superintendents, as soon as we receive that information, we'll post it too.
Karen
Thanks for that unofficial information, Karen! ;)
